All Pokémon games on Nintendo Switch

I’ve been a Pokémon fan since I got hold of Red and Blue in grade school. Whether you’re a new Pokémon enthusiast or a veteran like me, there is so much to enjoy on Nintendo Switch. Anyone excited for the upcoming games should pre-order Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. These are remakes of the Gen 4 games and include an adorable chibi art style that pays homage to the original adventure.

If I had to recommend just one game, it would be Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield. These Gen 8 games are the third best-selling Pokémon games after Red and Blue, and Gold and Silver. In addition, they present the wild area, sections of the map where Pokémon can be seen roaming the overworld. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can even jump into Max Raid Dens and catch Pokémon with others online.

For anyone who was a huge fan of the original RPGs, I cannot recommend Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Let’s go, Eevee! quite. You can explore the Kanto region on a whole new adventure with a Special Pikachu or Special Eevee by your side. You’ll take out Team Rocket, explore the original eight Gyms, and may even see Pokémon roaming the overworld. Note that fights are mostly removed from Wild Pokemon Battles and reserved for Trainer or Gym fights instead.

Whether you’ve only played one Pokémon game or played several, any serious Pokémon trainer should definitely use Pokémon HOME. The free service lets you store up to 30 Pokémon only, but if you pay for the Premium membership, you can store up to 6,000 from several different games and trade with other trainers as well. This is the perfect way to flush out your Pokédex or to get some super rare Pokémon that you might have missed before.
