Sinead Kavanagh says Cris Cyborg plays ‘mind games’ ahead of Bellator 271 title fight
Cris Cyborg puts his featherweight title on the line against Sinead Kavanagh at the Bellator 271 main event in Hollywood, Fla. On Friday. In the days leading up to the fight, Kavanagh accuses the Brazilian of trying to play mind games.
“(Cyborg) is here playing mind games. You won’t even believe what they’re up to. They tag me in this suplex (video). She has these ‘Squid Game’ cards with her face on them and she leaves them everywhere I go. She leaves them everywhere I go. She leaves them in my corner, leaves them on my floor. She tries to play her mind games, ”Kavanagh said on the media day of the event. “She’s trying to break me down, but she can’t.”
Kavanagh (7-4) is on a two-game winning streak. While she’s a big underdog heading into the title fight, she believes Cyborg’s former opponents have shown her too much respect.

“She gets too much (respect) in the cage. The cage is not for giving respect, the cage is for fighting, and the cage has to leave my soul in there and that’s exactly what I’m going to do on Friday night, ”she said.
Bellator 271 takes place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. This is the penultimate Bellator MMA event of the year.
