Tesco’s website and app went down all day after an unknown bug hit the retailer.
The incident caused hundreds of shoppers’ issues with people unable to complete their weekly grocery selection.
Tesco posted on Twitter: “We are having an issue with our website and app and we are working hard to get things going. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

According to Failure detector, a service that monitors service outages, hundreds of trouble reports have been received throughout the day since 7 a.m. and hit a new high as of 7 p.m. tonight.
The website has been down since 9 a.m. and there is currently no time to resolve the issue. Wales Online reports.
Many customers are now canceling their standing orders with Tesco because they cannot change them online before delivery.

It has been confirmed that deliveries will not be affected by the website and app crash, but booked deliveries currently cannot be changed.
Customers who no longer want items in their store and cannot change this on the website will be able to return unwanted items to their delivery driver.
A Tesco spokesperson confirmed that IT is working on the issue, however, they still don’t have an ETA update for a fix. The website and app have been down for over 6 hours.
